Die US-Einzelhandelsumsätze (August) sind mit +0,3 Prozent zwar etwas besser ausgefallen als erwartet (Prognose war +0,5%; Vormonat war 0,0%, nun aber auf -0,4% nach unten revidiert). Berücksichtigt man die starke Abwärtsrevision des Vormonats, sind die Daten eher mäßig!
Zum Vorjahresmonat stiegen die Umsätze (nicht inflationsbereinigt) um +9,1 Prozent (Vormonat war +10,28%).
Ohne Autos und Gas (Kernrate) liegen die Umsätze bei +0,3 Prozent (Vormonat war +0,7 Prozent)
Die control group (also der Teil der US-Einzelhandelsumsätze, der direkt in die Berechnung des US-BIP einfließt) liegt nur bei 0,0 Prozent (Prognose war +0,5%; Vormonat war +0,8%, nun auf +0,4% nach unten revidiert).

Der New York Empire State Index (September) ist mit -1,5 etwas besser ausgefallen als befürchtet (Prognose war -13,0; Vormonat war -31,3)
Dazu schreibt die New York Fed:
„Business activity held steady in New York State, according to firms responding to the September 2022 Empire State Manufacturing Survey. The headline general business conditions index climbed thirty points to -1.5. New orders edged higher, and shipments increased sharply. Delivery times held steady, and inventories expanded. Labor market indicators pointed to a modest increase in employment and no change in the average workweek. Price indexes moved notably lower, pointing to a deceleration in price increases. Looking ahead, firms were not very optimistic that business conditions would improve over the next six months“
