Die anstehenden US-Hausverkäufe (pending home sales; August), ein Frühindikator für den Immobilienmarkt der USA, sind mit -7,1% deutlich schwächer ausgefallen als erwartet (Prognose war -0,8%, Vormonat war +0,9%, nun auf +,5% nach unten revidiert).
Damit fallen die Pending Home Sales zum Vorjahresmonat um -18,7%
Dazu schreibt die NAR, das die Daten erhebt:
„Pending home sales fell 7.1% in August 2023, with all four regions of the U.S. posting month-over-month and year-over-year declines in transactions. Rising mortgage rates have reduced the pool of home buyers, who are having to readjust their expectations about the location and type of home they can afford.
Pending home sales slid 7.1% in August, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. All four U.S. regions posted monthly losses and year-over-year declines in transactions.
„Mortgage rates have been rising above 7% since August, which has diminished the pool of home buyers,“ said Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist. „Some would-be home buyers are taking a pause and readjusting their expectations about the location and type of home to better fit their budgets.“
