Vor wenigen Minuten wurde das Protokoll der letzten Fed-Sitzung (FOMC-Protokoll) veröffentlicht – die Notenbank bestätigt ihre Absicht weiterer Zinsanhebungen: es sei gefährlicher zu wenig zu tun gegen die Infation als zu viel. Hier einige Headlines:
– „Many participants emphasized that the cost of taking too little action to bring down inflation likely outweighed the cost of taking too much action“
– “The dollar’s strength largely reflected increasing investor concerns about the global growth outlook as well as widening interest rate differentials between the United States and Japan.”
– “Participants noted that a period of below-trend real GDP growth would help reduce inflationary pressures and set the stage for the sustained achievement of the Committee’s objectives of maximum employment and price stability.”
„Many participants noted that with inflation well above the Committee’s 2 percent objective and showing little sign so far of abating, and with supply and demand imbalances in the economy continuing, they had raised their assessment of the path of the federal funds rate that would likely be needed to achieve the Committee’s goals.“
Aber hier die Sorgen vor Neben-Effekten: „Several participants noted that… it would be important to calibrate the pace of further policy tightening with the aim of mitigating the risk of significant adverse effects on the economic outlook.“
FMW: Daher die US-Renditen jetzt niedriger und die US-Futures höher – zu bedenken ist, dass die Sitzung am 20/21.September stattfand, als Dollar-Stärke und Anstieg der Renditen noch nicht so stark ausgeprägt war wie jetzt – ergo der Stress im Finanzsystem geringer war als heute!
Nach dem Fed-Protokoll steigt die Erwrtung, dass die Fed Anfang November die Zinsen um 75 Basispunkte anheben wird auf 96%!
